Petit Pinson…

…was born into adventure in Hollywood, CA… her father was the original Lone Ranger stuntman.  Petit grew up in Three Rivers, CA playing in the river and climbing rocks and mountains.  After high school, she lived in various places in the Western US… always exploring and adventuring in the outdoors.  Her eclectic job history includes fire-fighting (rappelling from a helicopter), sports modeling, dog mushing, playing trumpet, guitar, and drums in numerous bands, outdoor education, classroom teaching, creative writing, dance choreography, massage, yoga… and the list goes on. Aside from inspiring others through slide shows and speaking, she is currently working to empower students through academic and life skills experiences in the U.S. and abroad and has created C.O.R.E. (Creative Outdoor Recreational “EDventures”), a non-profit outdoor education organization inspiring students in the central valley of California and Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks. C.O.R.E. is an integral part of creating the Burris Park Outdoor School, which is under construction in Hanford, CA.

In 2003, Petit was chosen to be part of a reality adventure TV show on Outdoor Life Network and ABC called “Global Extremes”.  After five different continents and many challenges, which culminated in two months in Tibet climbing Mt. Everest, she returned… smiling and healthy… with an extra awareness of the world around her and what it means to “summit”.  She returned to Tibet in 2004 with Wild Women Workshops to lead a group of women on a pilgrimage around Mt. Kailas… and the adventures continue! She is gearing up for her next journey to Tibet in Spring, 2008.

When she isn’t leading groups into wild places, Petit enjoys time exploring on her own and with friends (both human and canine). She is an avid snowboarder, surfer, scuba diver, mountain biker, trail runner, backpacker, mountaineer, writer, yoga and meditation practitioner, and all around explorer. She loves peanut butter!
