Comes to Lotus Expeditions with years of experience working on marketing and advertising. Her love of travel came from years of childhood driving around the US with her family living out of their pop up camper during summer vacations. A year studying abroad while in high school on the island of Sardinia really solidified her love of international travel.

She remembers the immense kindness and joyful spirit of all the Bhutanese people after her first trip. The guides and people really want to make sure you are comfortable, having fun, and eager to connect with you. She looks forward to sharing the magic of Bhutan with everyone.

Gross National Happiness brought Bhutan to Michael’s attention at some point in college while traveling through India. Years later the opportunity to visit the Himalayan Kingdom was a dream come true. Interacting with the people of Bhutan is a unique experience that cannot be replicated. The merging of traditional ways of life with a more modern western approach makes for a rich travel experience.

Michael loves the big mountain views from atop Dochu La and driving down into the Punakha Valley. After a handful of trips sharing Bhutan’s wonders with others the intrigue of the country still persists.

Discovered her deep love for Bhutan the moment she stepped off the plane on her first visit, and that connection has only grown stronger over time. She’s passionate about sharing the beauty and serenity of the country with others, hoping to inspire them as she was inspired. Raised on river trips with her grandpa and mom, Tate developed a profound appreciation for nature and adventure early on.

After becoming a commercial river guide, she’s spent the last four years helping others experience the thrill of the river, always prioritizing meaningful connections with people and the natural world. For Tate, these connections are what truly energize her. With her endless love for Bhutan, she hopes to share that magic with countless others, offering them a glimpse into a place that has captured her heart.

A passionate visitor of Bhutan for the past 15 years, forging deep connections with the country and its people along the way. As the founder of Northwest Rafting Company, he has spent his life immersed in adventure and river conservation, always seeking ways to protect and celebrate the natural world. A longtime lover of the outdoors, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather, and playing with their dogs, Pippen and Gus.

Over the years, he has fostered incredible relationships with the guides in Bhutan, building a network of shared experiences and mutual respect. Whether he’s crafting new adventures or sharing them with guests, Zach’s love for exploration and his commitment to conservation remain at the heart of everything he does.
